Let’s Hangout on Google+

gplus-logo We’re on Google+

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Google+ it is the latest and greatest social media platform out there! It’s still relatively new, it’s only been around for 2-3 years now so there aren’t the massive amounts of people on here as there are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the like but it is fast growing. There are tons of people joining G+ every single day especially individuals who are into social media, marketing, SEO or who have businesses. This is a great tool for businesses or for companies involved in growing a businesses’ online presence! As we all know Google+ is run by Google and Google owns Search which means that whatever content you post onto G+ is more than likely going to be indexed by Search and will inevitably end up in the search results (how awesome is that)! But anyway, this article isn’t about all of the ways that G+ is fantastic (although clearly it should be) but more so about the fact that we are on G+ and would love it if you would join us (and circle us, and talk to us and just be awesome)! The biggest difference that I’ve seen in G+ and the one that I love the most is the fact that this is actually a social platform. Yes, Facebook and Twitter are also social media platforms but for some reason people on these platforms don’t engage with their Likers or Followers. I feel like they just collect “fans” and retweet and share interesting and relevant information but don’t ever communicate with a lot of their fans which is really disappointing and discouraging for a lot of us who follow very prominent figures in social media. How giddy would you get if your favorite celebrity had a 1-1 conversation with you through twitter or facebook? It would be so awesome but it seldom happens. Which is why I love G+! G+ is all about engaging with other people and being social. Emphasis on the word social. And I really feel like a lot of people have lost touch on what the concept of being “social” means. It doesn’t mean going onto a platform and just brain dumping all your content and then having people comment and share it, what it means is to have information that you’re passionate about and share your information with other people and then talk about it, obsess about it and just love it! It’s not about how many followers or likers you have on your profile, it doesn’t make you cool… ok maybe it does, a little bit, what’s important is how much and how well you interact with other people on this platform. I can’t begin to tell you how many great people I’ve met since joining G+ and how many awesome conversations I’ve had with these amazing people that I probably never would have had on facebook or twitter!

Let’s Hangout!

So being that I love G+ so much and that this is unofficially our new home we’ve decided that we’d be hosting liveshows! These liveshows or HOAs (Hangouts On Air) as everyone calls them on G+ are basically like skype calls (you remember skype don’t you?) but live and at the end of the show you have a youtube video of that liveshow that shows up on your youtube channel. These liveshows that we’ll be putting together will be pet related (of course!) and will include experts in a variety of different fields talking about their specific niche, an inside look at TLS and what we do and basically just some great conversation! It’s a great way to engage with other pet enthusiasts as well as with our clients being that you can be part of the liveshow too. Don’t worry that doesn’t mean you’ll be on air for the world to see! It just means that you can be a guest while watching live and ask questions or leave comments during the show. So if we decide to have a trainer on our show one week and you have a specific question you want to ask, you can and it’s FREE! We’re super excited about these liveshows and we’ve got so many great ideas lined up for our channel that it’s hard to decide where to start. But just know they’re coming and you’re invited! So be sure to join us on G+ so you can be social too and tell your friends because we’re taking over the world! 🙂
