Poop bags

When my husband and I first got Zoey I went through a number of poop bags in search of the perfect one! During my first few months of looking for the right bag I was highly influenced and swayed by all of the cute and colorful poop bags and dispensers found at local pet stores. The ones with intricate designs and patterns (little bones, paw prints, flowers, etc) or bright and fun colors were the ones I was attracted to the most but as time progressed, more specifically after I opened up my dog walking business and started picking up tons of poop, I realized I needed something a little more eco-friendly!

Top 5 Reasons To Scoop The Poop

Scoop The Poop

Have you scooped your pups poop lately? No? Well neither has a good majority of the city of Miami! It’s a shame that such a BEAUTIFUL city can look so DISGUSTING because residents just refuse to pick up their dogs poop!

Now I know what you’re thinking (those of you non-poop scoopers): “I’m just one person who doesn’t pick up their poop, how much harm could that do?” Well, if everyone thought the same way you do, then our sidewalks, grass and streets would be covered in poop, ankle deep!

Here are 5 reasons why you should SCOOP THE POOP:

1. IT’S THE LAW!

In the city of Miami Beach it is in fact the law to pick up after your pet and not doing so will result in a fine between $25-$200!

2. Toxic

“But it’s great fertilizer!” Uhh… no? I used to think that too before I educated myself on the topic. Dog poop can actually act as a toxic as opposed to fertilizer when it comes to grass. It can burn your grass and also cause discoloration.

3. Contaminates Water Sources

Dog poop that isn’t picked up can be washed into storm drains and end up in rivers and streams! (which means you may be drinking contaminated poop infested water RIGHT NOW!!!)

4. Dangerous Pollutant

Dog poop has been classified as a dangerous pollutant by the Environmental Protection Agency and can be just as toxic as certain chemicals and oils!

5. Spreads Parasites (and disease)

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed that pet waste can spread parasites including but not  limited to: salmonella, tapeworms, hookworms, and tapeworms as well as harmful bacteria such as E.Coli and fecal coliform.
